This figure pays tribute to one of the world’s greatest entertainers and first time true movie stars… Charlie Chaplin. The “Little Tramp” rose to fame during the darkest days the First World War and although not serving in the military ensured his films were provided free-of-charge for soldiers’ entertainment. His popularity was so great that even the Germans knew of him. Here we see a German “Fritz” impersonating Charlie for the amusement of their comrades somewhere behind the lines. Proving once more that humour is universal and crosses borders… seas… and even trenches!
